SHOW NR 6

Our 6th show was held on Sunday 19 June 2011, in Montana, Pretoria at the Batter Boys Conference venue. Once again, we shared the hall with CASA, although the shows took place independently, one after the other and therefor were not joint shows. This was a wonderful show weekend in Gauteng, as the Cleopatra Cat Club (CFSA affiliated) had their double show the day before at the same venue.
It was one of our largest shows to date and we had the privilege to have Jan Rogers, a CFA All Breeds Judge from the USA as one of the 10 judges. Jan was great company and exhibitors, fellow judges and student judges alike appreciated her enthusiastic and friendly assessment of the exhibits. Thank you, Anita Grobler for taking the majority of the photographs for this show. Apologies for the WCF logo in some of the pictures - these were unfortunately taken against the background intended exclusively for the WCF show later in the day. There is no intention to present the AICA show or -club as affiliated to WCF.  |

Our seventh show was part of the annual Kirkwood Wildsfees in the Eastern Cape. The Eastern Province Cat Club staged a show on the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and we were privileged to have the hall on the Sunday afternoon. The different shows attracted record numbers of visitors and gave exposure to the pedigreed cat world to many spectators who would otherwise never have visited a cat show. The festival itself was enjoyed by exhibitors and show organisers alike. The show went well and was completed in record time, without a hiccup. Our 8th show was held at the Totius Primary School in Boston, Bellville - Cape Town.
We shared the hall with the Chats du Cap, who staged their first very successfull show later during the day. We were privileged to have visiting judges from Gauteng and the Eastern Cape. Best Cat Litter once again sponsored our show with prizes and a first for AICA was the prizes sponsored by Purina Supercoat. The show was a great success and had a huge number of visitors, many of whom visited a cat show for the first time. Exciting news is that for the first time in AICA and also the first time ever in South Africa two Household Pets received the title of Premier. This title is exactly the same as the registered/pedigreed cats and quite a feather in the cap of the proud owners. Congratulations Belinda with Romi and Irene with Timothy! Our 9th show was held at the Revival & Missions Centre,
Seaview, DURBAN. We shared the hall with CASA, who staged a National show on the day, after the completion of the AICA show. The AICA show afforded exhibitors who could not get awards higher than CAC/CAP at the WCF show, the opportunity to do so. We were privileged to have judges from Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape, representing CFSA, SACC and WCF. Hills Pet Nutrition once again provided generous sponsorship of prizes. The show was a success, despite not having as many visitors as we hoped for. The support of our local friends form the Natal Siamese and Oriental Group was paramount in making this show possible and successful. The Best in Show followed the traditional format of the Individual Judges Best, with one Overall Best.

Our 10th show! What an achievement, within less than one year we managed to stage 10 successful shows.
This show was held at the Mediterranian Conference Centre, Bedfordview on Saturday 5 November 2011. It was our biggest show to date and a resounding success. Once again the established method of Best In Show judging was followed. For the first time, the Overall Best was not announced at the end of the show, but kept as a surprise and announced only after the winner of the CASA show was announced. The CASA show followed in the same venue, after the completion of the AICA show. The Overall Best in Show was selected by Gail Nel en Philippa van Diggelen, both present on the day, but not part of the judging panel. They were uninamous in selecting our popular winner. Thank you, Theresa Fouche, for taking the wonderful studio quality photographs of our winners. It was a privilege and honour to have you at our show. Thank you, to Hills for sponsoring our prizes and for the local support by Charmain Danziger, who helped in so many ways to arrange the venue, catering and other local things. |
