Show 26It was still summer in the Cape and a great turn out of exhibitors and visitors alike. A feature in the Tygerburger about the "movie stars" cats helped to promote interest amongst the local public and many came to see these special cats, before they leave for Hollywood.
This was our second triple show event and the AICA show was once again followed by the Oriental, Siamese and Related Breeds group's 8th show. After the completion of this show, followed the 46th International WCF show of The Cat Association of Southern Africa (CASA). Hills and Cats Best sponsored the prizes and their friendly & enthusiastic representative was there with lots of goodies and the opportunity to register for the upcoming seminar for members of the Hills Breeders Association. Each judge could award one "Judges Best" only. We were privileged to have visiting judge Sharon Kelly, CFSA & WCF guest AB judge from KZN. The Best Overall was a lovely owner bred Sacred Birman. Congratulations, Sandy Gunst. The show had a large entry for a first show of the year, with good representation in all the categories and lots of litters. Thank you to all the helpers who turned a near disaster into a great success, buy turning up at 06:00 to set up the hall, due to City of Cape Town hiring out the hall until 01:00 in the morning, despite our traditional arrangement to set up the evening before. |
